The 2009/2010 Placer County Contractors Association Resource Directory is now being distributed.

The producers of Style Magazine are this years publisher of the directory, and we have moved to a full color, fully glossy magazine style directory.

The Directory is being distributed to the Placer County area subscribers of Style Magazine as a special edition.  The regular publication will include the directory.  This special edition will also be distributed to Style Magazines network of magazine stands throughout the area.  The stand alone directory with alphabetical and categorized entries will be distributed by the PCCA to it's network of members and contractor/home improvement based retail outlets such as Lowes, Home Depot, Meeks, Homewood Lumber and others.

You can also view the resource directory online at www.pccamembers.com/flipbook.html and view or download the directory there.  This is a great resource for our members as they can link directly to the magazine to anyone they chose from within the publication.  Send a link directly to your add or contact information to your client via email directly from within the magazine.  Search the magazine for your name and the results show in thumbnails that link directly to your spots in the magazine, those results are then highlighted to further draw readers directly to your information.

We hope you enjoy the new edition and direction your PCCA has taken to further promote your business and provide more ways to get your name out to the public.

Great idea!  It will take some getting used to but I can sure say you are bringing me up to speed with new ideas and ways to share.  Thanks! Smiley

My initial guess would be the residential supply chain "lead generator" idea... This tool will certainly enable the formed groups to exchange ideas and possible jobs to one another...  Great resource!

There are several boards that have been set up, and more can be added at any time.

The concept is to have a central point of communication that many of the younger people are very familiar with and comfortable using.  You can find a discussion forum like this in virtually any area, from tire companies to large gaming  companies.

Members can be added to boards that are reserved for a particular group.  For example, your concept of having select groups formed to share leads, each group can have it's own board and use it to post leads on a real time basis instead of meeting weekly or monthly to trade leads that may be out of date by the time the meeting is held.

Membership Committee can have a forum, to engage in discussions when it is convenient for them, say over a coffee break, and want to share an idea or contact.  One can simply post "Hey Jeff, I met George at Eagle Construction, he is looking for a phone call, 916-555-5555 give him a shout when you can"
Annee might spot that, know I'm in a conference for the day, and run with it handling the call and secure the member before I ever see the post or grab my message off the phone.  Heather might see it and run over there herself, since she just got a quote from George and can then take the quote to him, and mention PCCA at the time.  It's information sharing.

These forums have been gaining popularity and are now ingrained as a staple for most businesses, they have become a convenient way to make sure you are seen and heard, as we all have such varying schedules.
